Deputy President, the Liberal Party has been advocating the concept of consumption vouchers since 2009, given the poor market situation at that time. Three years ago, we threw out again the proposal of electronic consumption vouchers. We were grateful that the Financial Secretary accepted our proposal back then. For this year’s Budget, we told the Financial Secretary that we were concerned about the huge deficit, urging him to act within his means and not overspend in case we ran into a deficit again. However, we also explained to him that while many sectors such as retail, wholesale, and catering seem to have returned to normal, the Liberal Party has already expressed our concern that the retail and catering sectors might need help in June given the prevailing market conditions. Therefore, we hope the Government will distribute the consumption vouchers as early as possible. The Financial Secretary has always been very supportive of the Liberal Party’s views in this regard. He has provided strong help and support to both the economy and us.
Deputy President, I will stop here. The Liberal Party gives its support and hopes to see the Government disburse the consumption vouchers to the public as soon as possible. Thank you.
